Sometimes the Truth Hurts
I try not to read the comments on AJC postings much anymore. They tend to anger me and I can see no point in letting them have an effect on me. I should have tried harder today.
Yesterday, Rex Robinson delivered criticism of the Georgia Bulldogs via his blog. Bill King quoted Rex Post today in his blog. Frankly, niether posting bothered me. Thanks to @BPMackie, I read the comments on King’s post. That bothered me.Mackie (BPMackie) on Twitter
@RexRobinson5 judging by the comments section of the AJC, I’ll say you’ve had a busy morning pee’ing in the Cheerios of MetroATL residents.
Well said, Mackie. After reading the comments, you would think the Dawgs had a great season and just came up a little short. Never mind most of these people were clamoring for change during the course of the season. Never mind the blow-out losses to Tennessee and Florida. How dare Rex, a former All-American Bulldog and member of our last National Championship team, be critical of his alma mater’s football team?
They commenters wanted specifics. I am glad Rex did not deliver. It is not his job to air the program’s dirty laundry. He stated a problem exists. A problem Richt must have acknowledged given the current size of our coaching staff. Rex questioned whether enough was done. In my opinion, that is a very reasonable and appropriate question.
Look at the penalties. Look at the line of scrimmage against Florida, Tennessee and LSU? Was our line competitive with the opponent? Did Coach Searles forget how to coach an offensive line?
Of course not.
Strength AND Conditioning must be questioned. Everything must be questioned.

This O-line has had the same players for two years, they are experienced, yet have underperformed with mediocre running stats and results for two years. The Dawg Nation wants “Championships Plural” like Alabama, LSU and Florida. This requires an offensive line and running backs that are posting rushing stats at the top of the SEC. This Offensive line has rushed poorly against SEC opponents
Furthermore, Mark Richt is on the record saying it is not a strength and conditioning problem. He has had five years to address this problem and hasn’t. At the end of this season Mark Richt will have pocketed $15 million dollars of the Dawg Nations money over the last five years, for what?
