Happy Thanksgiving
My family is preparing to head to Albany, or should I say suburban Albany (Lee County), to spend our Thansgiving with my sister and her family. That alone makes me thankful.
As I do every morning, I took my coffee with a full helping of Bulldog blogs, most of which gave thanks for our troops. Like so many thousands of others, my sister’s husband is thousands of miles away from Albany providing much needed medical care to our soldiers in Iraq. I am constantly aware of this, but failed to mention it in yesterday’s post. To say I was overcome with shame for failing to do so myself would be an understatement.
So please excuse me while I make amends.
Dr. Mark Benton, please know as I feast in your beautiful home with your incredible family that I am thankful to you. I am thankful for your service to our country. I am thankful for your service to your community. Mostly, I am thankful to you for being such a great husband and father. You are always missed. Stay safe and hurry home.
