A Very Thankful BUI
With no apologies to Furman “bury me on the flats” Bisher, here’s my list of things BUI is thankful for.
I am thankful for my family’s acceptance of my fanaticism as an admirable trait in a Southern gentleman.
I am thankful to be a Georgia Bulldog, no matter the record of our flagship programs.
I am thankful for the advances in medical technology that give Chance Veazey hope for what tomorrow may bring.
I am thankful Baccari Rambo was not seriously injured on a game saving play that, however briefly, reminded us their might be some things more important than football.
I am thankful for the colors we wear, orange is just ugly and yellow is yellow.
I am thankful the NCAA allows to recruit and sign quarterbacks every year even if our coaches do not feel the need.
I am thankful for all of the Seniors, I know they have done their best.
I am thankful for the future all of these young pups will give us.
I am thankful for Damon Evans hiring Mark Fox.
I am thankful for AJ Green, the only thing more impressive than his commitment to Georgia has been his play for Georgia.
I am thankful for the Columbus and Macon newspapers for giving us all an option to the AJC. Bigger is not always better.
I am still thankful for Mark Richt and believe he will get things turned around in surprisingly quick fashion.
I am thankful for the potential of our young quarterbacks.
I am thankful we are not running scared from Jacksonville. Bulldogs never retreat (except on kickoffs)
I am thankful for Coach Perno, Coach Landers and the retired Suzanne Yucolan.
I am thankful for the abundance of Bulldog fan blogs, the ones written by fans that do not fancy themselves as analysts, and do not take themselves too seriously.
I am thankful to Daugman and Alan Ashely for blogging about basketball when no others are.
I am thankful for the former player that is not afraid to be critical.
I am thankful for the former player that toes the company line.
I am thankful that the majority of Americans don’t “take their ball and go home” when you disagree with them.
I am thankful to my parents for allowing me to attend the University of Georgia. At the time, I took it for granted, 20 years hence I truly understand how privileged I am.
I am thankful that my children, even though they have the grades to go most anywhere, have their hearts set on Athens.
I am thankful for being an American, even if many of our politicians are not.
I am thankful for being able to share my thoughts with the world, even if the world doesn’t care.
I am thankful to you for stopping by every now and then, I really appreciate it.
